Yanagionatsume柳大棗, a wooden tea caddy with black lacquer and gold maki-e depicting weeping willows, dating to 1980–1990 from Japan, measuring 7 × 7 × 7 cm (51 g) in excellent condition, with tomobako and a certificate inscription by Horiuchi Sokan on the box lid.

Yanagionatsume 柳大棗(やなぎおおなつめ)|Hirano Keizan 平野桂山(ひらのけいざん)
This object features black lacquer applied in multiple layers onto a wooden base, with weeping willows depicted using gold maki-e. A certificate inscription by Horiuchi Sokan, the head of the Omotesenke Horiuchi school, is written on the back of the wooden box lid as "Yanagimakie Kuronatsume". A cipher by Horiuchi Sokan is applied with red lacquer on the back of the tea caddy lid.
Artist Profile:
Hirano Keizan succeeds the traditional techniques of Wajima lacquerware and performs painting with makie.
