Nino Gobbis faesite panel, 100 cm high by 60 cm wide with 10 cm depth, dating to 1950–1960, in Veneto Treviso, Italy, in Mid‑Century Modern style and in good condition with minor signs of age and stains.

Nino Gobbis Panel, raised faesite relief carving on faesite.
This exceptional panel of 45 x 90 cm has extraordinary craftsmanship, with extreme mastery in the use of the gouge to achieve the raised relief, as in this black flower vase, ready for a special lacquer coating patented by Arreda di Celotto. never executed
Nino Gobbis used faesite or Masonite as the matrix. Being an industrial material free of natural veins, it allows precise lines and uniform planes and a surface decidedly harder and more durable.
The piece testifies to an era in which Arreda di Celotto furniture, with these inserts, represented the interior decor of the time.
Gobbis collaborated with Arreda di Celotto, which in the 1950s produced furnishings designed by famous Italian architects and designers such as Piero Celotto, commissioning decorative panels from artists like Nino Gobbis to furnish bourgeois houses, offices, hotels or ocean liners. This kind of art blends artistic craftsmanship with design production, integrating sculpture seamlessly into the interior architecture of the era.
The panel has undergone no treatment and retains all its charm.

I declare that this panel comes from the private collection of the Celotto family of Montebelluna, which has kept it available since the time of its creation. The work later entered my private collection and is being offered for sale with this provenance statement, issued in good faith.
For shipping the item is protected by either a double layer of plywood or by corrugated cardboard 5 cm thick to prevent damage during transport; unfortunately this affects shipping costs.
