Large solid walnut wall mirror, carved – Italy – Late 19th / early 20th century

Elegant and substantial Italian wall mirror, crafted in solid walnut and finely carved, dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century, inspired by Italian Renaissance models.

The frame features a refined architectural setting with a rounded pediment, a rich central radiating carved motif, a decorative frieze with semicircular elements, and harmonious lateral volutes. The deep moldings give notable three-dimensionality and attest to careful artisanal workmanship.

The mirror retains its beveled glass, characterized by wide, refined perimeter polishing that lends particular brightness and elegance to the whole piece.

The back shows traditional construction with solid wood paneling and old-fashioned iron hardware, elements consistent with high-quality Italian craftsmanship.

The piece is presented in exceptional condition, rarely found for an item of this age: the wood preserves an excellent patina, the carvings are perfectly intact and well-defined, while the glass is bright and free of breakages. Only very slight signs of time compatible with its age are present, with no missing parts or evident restorations.
