Description from the seller
•Title: “Hera”
•Artist: Cosmin Marian Guta
•Year: 2026
•Medium: Mixed media on canvas, pastels, ink, oil and acrylic on canvas
------------ ---------------
* Painting dimensions: 170x48 cm painting
* Total canvas dimensions: 180x56 cm (with about 3-4 cm of free space on each side to be framed)
* SHIPMENT WITHOUT FRAME / SHIPPING WITHOUT FRAME
---------------------------
• Style: Contemporary, in which I use mixed media and organic matter that, when manipulated, takes on a tactile quality reminiscent of human epidermis. The surfaces of my works become skins that breathe, scar, erode and transform. They are sensitive maps where memories, marks, and silences are inscribed. I’m interested in that intersection between the physical and the symbolic, where matter seems to have a life of its own.
• Shipping: Packaged and boxed in a cardboard tube
• Signed on the front of the canvas
• Note: Colors may vary slightly compared to photographs
• The artwork is unique.
***The artwork will be shipped in a cardboard tube, with a tracking number, via an internationally known carrier, for example (FEDEX, UPS, TNT) ***
Description
Hera is a work that reinterpret s the figure of the Greek goddess as a symbol of strength, dignity and female power. The figure stands upright, with a serene yet defiant gaze, stripped of idealizations and shown with a deeply human presence. The expressive treatment of color and brushwork emphasizes vulnerability while also underscoring the determination of her body.
The intense contrast between warm skin tones, the pink background, and the blue folds that partially envelop the figure creates a visual tension that reinforces the duality between fragility and strength. Hera invites the viewer to reflect on femininity as a manifestation of authority, beauty, and authenticity, transcending classical canon to offer a contemporary and deeply emotional vision.
