Statue, Afrodite - 64 cm - Patinated bronze

Beautiful high-quality bronze sculpture, depicting a naked female figure in a classical taste (Aphrodite/Venus). Made with the lost-wax casting technique, it features perfect anatomy, elegant features and a evocative green patina derived from long immersion in a marine environment.
Dimensions: height 64 cm, width 28 cm, base 15x16 cm.
The work was found underwater in the waters of Taranto in 2017 during a dive. After examinations by the Soprintendenza of Lecce, it was returned to the owner as a modern reproduction of a classical type (late nineteenth–early twentieth century), in line with the composition of the metal alloy (copper with tin, zinc and lead).
