This dark brown, hand-carved wooden chest is of North Indian origin, often referred to as an Anglo-Indian box. The lid and the sides are adorned with detailed relief carving, including iris flowers, birds, and foliage. Such chests were commonly used for storing jewelry, trinkets, or as souvenirs by British officers during the colonial era. The chest dates to the late 19th century and, unfortunately, the key is missing.

Deze donkerbruine, handgesneden houten kist is van Noord-Indiase oorsprong, vaak aangeduid als een Anglo-Indiase doos. Het deksel en de zijkanten zijn voorzien van gedetailleerd reliëfsnijwerk, waaronder irisbloemen, vogels en gebladerte. Dergelijke kisten werden vaak gebruikt voor het bewaren van sieraden, snuisterijen of als souvenir door Britse officieren tijdens de koloniale periode. De kist is gemaakt aan het einde van de 19e eeuw en helaas ontbreekt het sleuteltje.
