Splendid Kukri (or Khukuri), the iconic national weapon of Nepal, world-famous for its use by Gurkha soldiers.
The Kukri: The large main blade with the distinctive inward-curved shape.
The Karda: The small, sharp blade used for skinning game or for fine little tasks.
The Chakmak: The blunt steel blade used to sharpen the main blade or to strike sparks together with a flint.
The Sheath: Usually made of wood and lined with water buffalo leather.
This kukri was made in the middle of the 20th century.
Dimensions: 43 cm total (39.5 cm kukri and 29 cm blade)
Weight: 500 g total
