Splendidly decorated antique Indonesian brass vase, from Java, adorned with detailed, hand-etched engravings. The vase displays typical motifs such as Wayang figures (puppets from the traditional shadow play) and cattle. The vase was made at the beginning of the 20th century.

Splendid antique Indonesian brass bowl or dish, from Java. The bowl is decorated with traditional Wayang Kulit (shadow puppet) figures and a geometric or floral motif along the rim. This type of bowls, also known as bokor, were traditionally used in ceremonies or for storing ingredients for chewing betel nut. This bowl dates from the second half of the 19th century. The heavy brass and the hand-engraved or chased details—especially the Wayang figures depicting mythological characters—are characteristic of Javanese craftsmanship of that period.
