This edition of the "Canti" by Giacomo Leopardi has been produced in a limited print run of nine hundred seventy-five copies numbered from 1/975 to 975/975 and seventy-five copies numbered from I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV for worldwide distribution.
In addition to the original text of the thirty-six Canti and the five Frammenti, the work includes the introduction and three interludes of commentary curated by Prof. Sergio Campailla, fifteen color plates hors texte, and forty-one black-and-white illustrations in the text drawn from works and drawings originally created for this edition by Master Ugo Riva. The composition of the texts in monotype with Garamond 18 and the printing on a hand press were carried out at Monotipia Olivieri of Milan, on fine-quality BFK Rives 100% cotton paper 180 g, 45 x 34.5 cm, produced especially for this edition by Cartiere d'Arches.
The fifteen hors-texte plates were printed with lithography–serigraphy technique on BFK Rives 100% cotton 250 g paper, at the Stamperia d'Arte "L'Incisione" of Corbetta–Milano.
The graphic design was by Studio Moruzzi of Bologna.
The stitching, binding, and the leather volume cover, hand-stained brown with gold inscriptions, were crafted by the master artisans of the Legatoria d'Arte "L'Arte del Libro" of Todi.
On the cover of the Volume is placed a copy of tu pensoso by Ugo Riva, original bas-relief, 185 x 155 mm, cast and gilded in 24 k gold at the Landi Foundry of Milan, in a limited edition of nine hundred seventy-five copies numbered from 1/975 to 975/975 and seventy-five copies numbered from I/LXXV to LXXV/LXXV.
Each copy of the work Tu pensoso bears the number, the author’s signature, and the seal of ART’E’ and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance. Each Volume is numbered and signed by Master Ugo Riva.
