A modernist brass lamp dating to the early 20th century in Art Nouveau style, with a silvered brass body and a frosted floral glass shade, made in France, measuring 14 cm deep, 14 cm wide and 43 cm high, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
It is a early-20th-century modernist lamp that blends the delicate artisanal quality of crystal with the light expressiveness of silvered metal, creating a piece that breathes that spirit of the early era of domestic electrical design: functional, elegant, and with a poetic touch.
The metal body rises in a stylized, slightly conical column, ascending with a soft verticality, without rigidity. The three curved feet that support the base lend an almost organic air, as if the lamp rested with the grace of a small metallic creature. The side handle, discreet but decorative, is a nod to the first electrical designs, when the lamp still retained gestures inherited from oil or candle models.
The glass shade, with its frosted finish and floral relief, is the modernist heart of the piece. The flowers seem to emerge from the glass like a frozen breath, and the wavy edge adds movement and femininity. When the light passes through the glass, the textures become more visible, creating a play of shadows that accentuates the artisanal sensitivity of the design.
The overall impression is that characteristic mix of modernism: fluid lines, natural inspiration, noble materials, and an aesthetic that seeks beauty without ostentation. It is a lamp that illuminates, but also accompanies; that works as a decorative object and as a small fragment of domestic history.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
