Oil painting Landschaft by Willi Gallert, signed, in Realism style from the 1950s (1950–1960), Germany, framed 52.5 × 69.5 cm, original edition, depicting a North German heath landscape.
Description from the seller
For sale is a classic, hand-painted oil painting of a North German heath landscape (motif in the style of the Lüneburg Heath) from the mid-20th century. The work captures the typical atmosphere of the region with blooming heath fields, distinctive birches, juniper shrubs, and a winding heath path.
Provenance & origin:
The painting has an interesting history: It was acquired, together with the purchase of a historic house (built around the 1930s) in the Bavarian Altmühltal, as part of the original inventory. The exact provenance before that is not documented, however the work fits perfectly into the historic interior of that era.
Details about the work:
Artist: Willi Gallert (clearly signed lower right)
Technique / support: Oil on sturdy board (painting cardboard / hardboard)
Era / period: approx. 1950s / 1960s
Special feature: On the back of the wooden frame there is an old handwritten note in Sütterlin/Kurrentschrift with the title “Heide” as well as a model/storage number (“1034”).

Condition:
The painting is in good, age-appropriate condition with good color retention. The frame shows minimal patina and age-related signs of use that emphasize the antique charm (see photos).
