Description
This lot comprises 25 old flat plates perfectly identical, from a substantial dinner service of more than 200 pieces.
The plates feature an elegant Belle Époque-style decoration composed of a wide emerald green rim enhanced by rich gilding, framing a finely ornamented central motif. The whole bears witness to a high-quality craftsmanship typical of Belgian productions at the end of the 19th century.
Under each plate is the handwritten inscription “Vermeren-Coché – Ixelles,” linked to the historic Ixelles manufacture (Brussels), renowned for productions intended for grand houses and reception tables.
