About the work:
"Aloe" (Alien Lost On Earth) embodies a human being who feels foreign in today’s world, immersed in a society where cultural richness seems in decline, growing insecurity and a future lacking clarity. This evocative character transports us to the heart of a deep nostalgia for the 1980s, an era that emotionally reflects a past now distant and irreplaceable, bearing timeless memories.
Despite feeling out of step with this world, he tries, almost against his will, to blend in, exploring subtleties to gradually assimilate.
About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau, self-taught painter, was born in Marseille in 1970; he now lives near Aix-en-Provence.
With Frédéric Truteau, humor and irony are precious artistic tools—an artifice to take the opposite stance of ideas and situations commonly accepted.
Dare, challenge, disturb, surprise, no matter what.
For Frédéric Truteau, the essential is to provoke a reaction by sharing his own vision of things.
