Description from the seller
Claudio Cassaniti (Italy, 1997)
Family Portrait – 2025
Original oil on canvas.
Dimensions: 70 × 90 cm
Unframed work.
Signed and dated by the artist on the back of the canvas.
"Family Portrait" addresses the theme of the transmission of violence, power, and emotional heritage within family relationships. Three human figures are depicted in a theatrical, suspended composition: two characters observe the body laid out in the foreground, while snakes coil around the bodies as a metaphor for temptation, guilt, memory, and bonds impossible to break. The painting combines figurative and symbolic elements, with an expressive search that privileges psychological intensity over descriptive realism.
The oil technique, characterized by glazing and strong chiaroscuro contrasts, helps to create a silent and unsettling atmosphere in which time seems suspended and every gesture acquires an allegorical value.
Unique work (1/1).
Provenance: directly from the artist's studio.
Documentation: certificate of authenticity signed by the artist included.
Conditions: excellent condition, no restoration or conservation intervention.
Shipping: the work will be shipped carefully packaged with professional materials and adequately protected to ensure its integrity during transport.
