Publisher: LI - 1940, 2 leaves, 28 pages with 15 color etchings of which only 3 are full-page (unfortunately two full pages are missing, so 13 etchings are present in this copy)
Text and plates unbound, as issued. Quarto pages (29 x 20.5 cm).
Limited edition of 147 copies; this is no. 25 of 125, on cream vélin, numbered from 23 to 147.
Original gold parchment cover, inserted in its original marbled cardboard slipcase gilded, which itself is inserted in its original marbled cardboard slipcase gilded.
Copy preserved in its wrapper and case. Very fine copy, with vivid colors
Paris, Monod - Edition published under the direction of Charles Meunier, with Louis Icart's etchings printed in intaglio by master printer Manuel Robbe.
Icart’s etchings enjoy worldwide renown and it is estimated that he produced more than 500 during his lifetime. He also illustrated more than 30 books, many with erotic content, and became an accomplished painter. His paintings, more personal and less commercial than his etchings, reflect the fact that they were created mainly for his own pleasure and not intended for an audience
