Float State explores the delicate balance between nostalgia, identity and contemporary culture. The iconic rubber duck, elevated through a hyper-realistic execution, ceases to be merely an object associated with childhood and instead assumes the role of a symbol of how we preserve memories and seek lightness in a world marked by sensory overload.
The meticulously constructed reflections transform the plastic surface into a metaphor for how we absorb and project the environment around us. The urban-inspired background, marked by graffiti gestures and the subtle halo that surrounds the figure, creates a dialogue between innocence and the visual language of cities, suggesting that even the simplest objects carry stories shaped by the context in which they exist.
By suspending the duck in a state of almost untouched serenity, Float State invites the viewer to reflect on the capacity to stay afloat, adapting to life’s currents without losing its own essence. The work celebrates the beauty of the everyday, transforming a universal icon into a sculptural, luminous, and deeply contemporary presence.
