Description from the seller
Xandro Peña, an artist born in Cuba who currently resides and works in Madrid.
His work is in private collections in the United States, Mexico, Germany, France, Spain, and Sweden.
Bicolor Iris belongs to a series of works in which he explores contemporary floral composition where organic shapes and superimposed forms build a delicate balance between abstraction and representation. The vibrant palette of oranges, greens and deep blues creates a luminous and dynamic atmosphere, while the transparencies add depth, visual rhythm, and a sense of enveloping movement.
Digital illustration created in Affinity with Wacom.
Art print on canvas.
Sold unframed.
Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
The artwork is shipped rolled, protected with craft paper, in a professional packaging tube.
Unique piece, includes a 5 cm white margin on each side for mounting on a frame.
Image size: 100 x 70 cm
Total canvas size: 110 x 80 cm
Although his artistic practice is mainly oriented toward painting, he maintains a constant relationship with engraving and digital media, both conceptually and aesthetically. His work investigates color, rhythm, and structure, establishing a dialogue with contemporary abstraction and new ways of assimilating painting.
He has undertaken several artistic residencies in Spain and Portugal, experiences that have contributed to broadening his formal research and international reach.
Among his main references are Sean Scully, Bernard Frize, Brice Marden, Raoul De Keyser, Patricia Treib, and Sarah Crowner.
