Lovely pair of neo-Gothic altar candlesticks made of solid brass or bronze. The candlesticks feature a characteristic three-step base with Gothic ornamentation and a slender, architecturally constructed stem. At the top are the original candle prickers with openwork crown-shaped drip catchers.

These candlesticks are executed in the popular Neo-Gothic style (Gothic Revival) and are presumably dating from the period 1880-1920. They were likely manufactured for ecclesiastical use or a chapel interior.
