This work fuses painting and object, transforming an immediate and recognizable image into a physical gesture suspended in time. The brush, incorporated into the canvas, is not only a tool but a living trace of the action, as if the mark had paused exactly at the moment it was happening.

The smiling face, universal icon of lightness and communication, is reinterpreted through a broad and imperfect sign, traversed by drips that crack its apparent simplicity. The smile remains, but becomes laden with ambiguity: between spontaneity and construction, between immediacy and something that escapes control.

The insertion of the brush breaks the two-dimensional surface and moves the work into a hybrid dimension, between painting and sculpture. From this emerges a reflection on gesture as a real act, on matter as a trace of time, and on emotion as something visible but never completely stable.
