Description from the seller
Original mid-century advertising manifesto created to promote the metal coverings “Toit Bien Vu,” a product marketed by Mines de Fer de France, an important French company in the steel sector.
The graphic composition is a notable example of postwar French advertising graphics: a large black geometric volume symbolically represents a metal roof, while a stylized worker in blue overalls observes the completed work with satisfaction. The minimalist layout, the use of flat colors and the effective color contrast recall the visual language of modernism developed in France in the 1950s.
The poster bears the plate signature C.N. Perrot and was printed by Le Triptyque – Paris for Mines de Fer de France, based at 15 bis Rue de Marignan, Paris VIIIe.
Object of particular interest for:
- collezionismo di affiches pubblicitarie francesi;
- grafica modernista anni ’50;
- design industriale e architettura;
- pubblicità del settore edilizio e siderurgico;
- interior design vintage e contemporaneo.
The essential simplicity of the composition and the strong graphic presence make the poster especially decorative even in modern environments.
