About Svnder:
After completing his academic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo, Svnder dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work roots itself in classical techniques, but is guided by a contemporary sensibility that gives poetic depth to every subject. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After academic training, he traveled in Europe and the rest of the world, immersing himself in different cultures and artistic traditions to further refine his technique and expand his creative vision. This ongoing path constantly enriches his visual language and intensifies its expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters – including Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Vermeer – his gaze blends tradition and modernity in a continual dialogue between memory, body, and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary key, to emotionally impactful portraits, including mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs, and allegorical figures. There are references to classicism, Christian symbolism, Greek myth, and pop culture filtered with irony. Each composition is built like an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and deeply human balance.
“For me, art is a moment of suspension — a space where time stops and emotions take shape without words.”
His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections across Europe and the rest of the world.
