Sri Dewi - Wood - Indonesia - mid-20th century

Polychrome Balinese wooden household mask of Sri Dewi, the Goddess of the Fertile Earth. She brings the monsoon and ensures a good harvest. She is especially intensely worshiped in Bali in many ceremonies held in her honor. The mask is in good condition, but at the tip of the nose and on the left ear some paint has faded. The wood at the bottom of the left ear is also slightly damaged. Otherwise it is in excellent condition.
