Devil Rock by Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966), a 2023 resin and marble powder sculpture, 28 x 20 x 12 cm, gold edition limited to 499, hand-signed and in new condition, produced in Italy.
Description from the seller
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche-born artist whose life has its roots in craft mastery. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chroming.
The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to release the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an exemplary technique thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
Title - Devil rock
Technique: resin and marble dust
Dimensions: 28x20x12 cm
Condition: new.
Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed.
Edition: limited edition 499 pieces - gold
Message and interpretation: "Devil Rock" invites us to consider the playful and humorous side of life. The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of lightening the spirit and finding fun even in the most common or everyday situations. The heart reimagined in a diabolical key could be interpreted as an exploration of human duality, showing how opposing aspects can coexist within each of us.
Context and inspiration: Sagrasse drew inspiration from a playful spirit to create "Devil Rock," aiming to bring a smile to viewers’ faces and to invite them not to take everything too seriously. The work reflects a desire to explore the contrast between love and evil, finding a balance between both through a provocative and visually interesting artistic expression.
The work will be carefully packaged and shipped via courier with tracking.
In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious art events. Notable among these are the presence at the Contemporary Art Review "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaboration with the Centro d'Arte e Cultura VERUM, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned private Fuser Collection. From craftsman to signatory of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse proves how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression.
Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from functional constraints, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern.
Sagrasse’s work sits perfectly in the tradition of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret everyday icons or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski.
The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation.
It is a handmade work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of completely manual workmanship.
It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean only with a soft cloth, without detergents.
