Description from the seller
In the milky light of a Haussmannian morning, a woman stands at the threshold of the open window, the cup held with both hands like a small hearth of warmth. The white shirt, slightly open, catches the day and diffuses it — the fabric becomes a membrane between the intimate and the street. Facing her, on the railing, the tabby cat keeps guard, motionless, attentive statue turned toward the tin roofs. The two gazes respond to each other without meeting: she contemplates the horizon, he contemplates the city, and the black ironwork that separates them draws the ornately bordered boundary between inside and outside. On the floor, scattered papers murmur a night of work or insomnia; the wooden desk, the gray‑green shutters, and the chevron parquet anchor the scene in tactile realism. Semiotically, everything is a threshold and a pause: the French door, the hesitant step, the cup barely brushed compose the iconography of the morning as a time of latency, before the day demands its due.
Unique work (1/1) — pigment print entirely enhanced by hand, no other impression exists.
Technique: mixed media — pigment ink. Varnish applied by hand, for the depth of blacks and the durable protection of the artwork.
Support: premium canvas stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang.
Format: 60 × 40 cm (portrait).
