Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal mastery. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small town among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome plating.
The turning point of his life came with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time became an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” an excellent technique thus became the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
