A very beautiful and large-scale earthenware lidded vase from the renowned Dutch manufacturer N.V. De Sphinx (formerly Petrus Regout) from Maastricht.
The vase is beautifully decorated all around in an Oriental style. On one side there is a richly colored cartouche with flowers and paradise birds; on the other side a serene depiction of an Asian river landscape with a pavilion. The vase is finished with warm ochre-yellow, green and purple tones and a decorative geometric pattern rim at the base.
Specifications:
Origin: De Sphinx, Maastricht, Netherlands (fully marked on the bottom, see photo 20260706_151553.jpg).
Period: Circa 1928.
Dimensions: Height 32 cm | Diameter approx. 28 cm.
Condition: In excellent antique condition. Fully intact, no damage, no chips and no restorations. Very minor and normal signs of aging in line with the age.
