Herman Brood (1946-2001) - 'Rolluiken'

Almost unique! Collector’s item! Of this special canvas print, only two copies are known. Originally the plan was to print 100 copies, but after 1/100 and 2/100 a dispute arose over the distribution of the proceeds. Therefore there are ultimately only 2 copies in this very large format (120 x 282 cm) produced by Herman Brood.

The design was created in 1996 by Herman Brood on the shutters of the parking garage of the then-renovated Leidschenhage shopping center. At the request of the client, two canvases of the design were produced via a special printing technique. This is the first. After the 1/100 & 2/100, they stopped; the remaining 98 were never made.

It concerns a special printing technique applied to canvas that was then stretched onto an aluminum frame. The original on the shutter is signed in the middle by Herman Brood..
