The body of works series “LUMINA” explores the interplay of light, color and atmosphere. The works are created on unprimed cotton canvas, whose natural surface becomes part of the composition and gives the images an honest, unadulterated presence. The paint is poured, poured, and splashed directly onto the canvas without brushes or other tools – an intuitive, free painting process that endows each work with its unmistakable dynamism. Layered glazes and subtle textures create pictorial spaces of extraordinary depth and luminosity. Between Color Field painting and lyrical abstraction, works of quiet presence emerge, continuously changing with the light and the viewer’s perception. Each work invites you to not only see color but to experience it.
