With Goldorak – Anatomy of a Myth, SKE offers a unique artistic reading of the absolute icon of Japanese animation. This hybrid creation draws on anime conception boards, artists’ study notebooks, and the raw energy of contemporary street art.
On a textured background evoking a workshop sheet marked by time — coffee stains, technical annotations, and spontaneous strokes — the artist deconstructs and reassembles the mythical figure of Goldorak. The robot’s monumental face dominates the composition like a sacred relic of pop culture, while around it appear various interpretations: dynamic sketches of the mecha in action, proportion studies, diagrams of the saucer mode, and revisited mechanical visions.
The neural lines, red splashes, and handwritten annotations give the work an almost archaeological dimension: as if one were observing the notes of a creator imagining the most legendary robot of Japanese animation.
SKE transforms Goldorak here into an object of artistic study, between nostalgic homage, manga culture, and a contemporary look at popular icons.
A work that fuses anime design, urban art, pop art, and workshop aesthetics.
Why bid?
Because this work concentrates:
An original artistic rereading of the Goldorak universe, between a sketchbook and a contemporary work.
A unique aesthetic blending study sketches, graffiti, and pop art.
A vibrant homage to a major icon of manga culture and Japanese animation.
The SKE signature, known for its modern interpretations of pop myths.
And above all an absolute ultra-rare: only 10 copies in the world.
An piece ideal for enriching a contemporary art collection inspired by pop culture, asserting a taste for bold graphic works, or investing in a singular creation blending nostalgia, design, and urban art.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who has grown up with the culture of the 80s/90s, influencing a large majority of his artistic works.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencil, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with a double meaning, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s value has seen a notable rise. Winner of the first prize at Urban Master (2023), then elected Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a publication in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, strengthening his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE is also making an impact in the digital artworks market, a major trend of the past two years, reinforcing the appeal of his creations among collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture play characterize a style now of undeniable influence.
SKE is undeniably an artist to watch, to initiate or enrich a collection with rising value.
Acclaimed & Awarded Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work is part of a prestigious lineage. His line carries the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to appropriate Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and Scrooge McDuck’s symbolic greed. The influence of gaming, comics, and the Marvel stable is omnipresent: from Nintendo and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), including the Marvel Super Heroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes recalling Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits alongside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: sneaker worlds (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not forgetting mass-consumption icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes sometimes reminiscent of Jeff Koons’s glossy surfaces or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal for enriching a collection or bringing a dynamic touch to your interior.
