David Law
Contemporary Image Photographer – Creator of contemporary visuals
Multidisciplinary photographer, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to shop-window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continued this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

With this series, David Law dives into bare, dark universes inhabited by suspended, ghostly silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores notions of isolation, trace, and memory. A silent crossing, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.
Edition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with UV- and moisture-resistant soft lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors, and a modern, contemporary rendering.

Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the group FRENZY.
