Large hand-painted German sculpture depicting a shepherd with his flock, dating from the early 20th century.
This impressive composition portrays a young shepherd carrying a staff while guiding several sheep beneath a tree. The scene is rich in detail, with expressive modelling, vibrant polychrome decoration and a glossy glazed finish characteristic of German decorative porcelain of the period.
The sculpture is entirely hand-painted and displays fine craftsmanship in both the figures and the naturalistic tree trunk. Its large dimensions make it an eye-catching decorative piece suitable for collectors of European porcelain and pastoral sculptures.
