Description from the seller
Pair of German Hunter's Porcelain Pipes – Hand-Painted Hunting Scenes – 67 cm – Mid-20th Century
Description
This lot comprises a beautiful pair of traditional German hunter's porcelain pipes (Jägerpfeifen), dating from the mid-20th century.
Each pipe features a finely hand-painted porcelain bowl decorated with classic hunting scenes, including mounted hunters in traditional red hunting coats, hunting dogs, roe deer and woodland landscapes. Both are fitted with pierced metal wind caps and long wooden stems with elegant turned details and horn-effect decorative elements.
These ceremonial long pipes are emblematic of German hunting tradition and are highly appreciated today by collectors of tobacciana, hunting memorabilia and European decorative arts. Besides their historical interest, they also make striking decorative display pieces.
Both pipes remain in excellent vintage condition, with only minor signs of age and gentle use consistent with their period. The photographs form an integral part of the description and accurately illustrate the condition of the items.
The lot will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking and insurance.
