Norton, founded in 1898 by James Lansdowne Norton in Birmingham, is a legendary British motorcycle brand with a rich history. The brand gained worldwide recognition through its successes at the Isle of Man TT. It became famous for the Dominator, Commando and Manx models. The spring saddle frame was an epochal development for pure motorcycle feeling and exclusivity.
The Norton Commando 961 Sport, manufactured at Donington Park, is a modern interpretation of the legendary Commando from the 1960s. This motorcycle combines timeless, classic lines with high-quality, modern technology, offering a unique riding experience and appearance.
Under the fuel tank sits a powerful 961-cc parallel-twin with dry-sump lubrication, delivering around 80 HP and 80 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. The chassis is equipped with high-quality components and features a fully adjustable Öhlins suspension: a 43-mm front fork and two rear shock absorbers with adjustable ride height, spring preload, compression and rebound damping.
Even the brakes reflect top quality. The braking system consists of two 320-mm floating front discs with radially mounted Brembo 4-piston calipers and a 220-mm rear disc with a Brembo 2-piston caliper. This ensures powerful and controllable braking performance.
With a curb weight of about 205 kg and a top speed of about 210 km/h (130 mph), this Norton offers not only character but also impressive performance.
