Description from the seller
X for Grieshaber — The Artphabet
Edition 1/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project by digital artist Cess in which each letter of the alphabet becomes a visual homage to great figures of art.
The piece interprets the letter X through the plastic language of HAP Grieshaber, renowned for his work in woodcut and his expressive, direct approach deeply tied to the graphic form. The composition is built through a fragmented geometric structure, where planes of vibrant color assemble as if carved or assembled pieces, evoking the artisanal and structural character of wood printing.
Angular volumes and defined edges recall the process of cutting and engraving, while the color palette —intense and contrasted— brings dynamism and contemporaneity to the work. Each face of the letter functions as an independent plane, generating a visual play between depth, light, and color that transforms the X into a pictorial sculpture.
The result is a piece that combines tradition and modernity: on one hand, the material and graphic spirit of woodcut; on the other, the precision and cleanliness of digital 3D art. The letter ceases to be a typographic sign to become an artistic object with its own presence.
Carried out entirely in 3D (CGI), the work has been modeled with special attention to volumetric construction and the interaction of the planes, achieving an aesthetic that recalls both the manual and the digital.
The Artphabet has been widely disseminated internationally in media specializing in art, design, and creativity, establishing itself as a prominent series within the contemporary digital art scene.
Cess is an artist specialized in CGI, digital art and artificial intelligence, with collaborations with brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue and MTV.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on polycotton canvas, guaranteeing a faithful reproduction of color, visual texture, and nuances of the digital original.
