Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) – “Aurora Ikea Cult” – IKEA - 7/20
When a brand becomes a belief.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Fake, Aurora Authentic Fake… AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between mass culture, global consumption and the blind trust granted to commercial icons.
“Aurora Ikea Cult” distorts the imaginary of a universal brand to turn it into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic, almost ritual object of art.
On the front, the message is clear:
" IKEA ", frozen as a symbol, recognizable above all.
On the sides, the formula imposes itself, without detour:
" IN / WE TRUST ".
A minimalist, immediate, universal profession of faith.
A contemporary belief engraved in wood.
By day: a chrome, smooth, familiar icon.
By night: a multicolored aurora borealis ignites the space.
A brutal contrast between mass consumption and modern devotion.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
The numbering visible in the photos is for example purposes. The artwork delivered will bear the edition number indicated in this listing.

Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of the visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail and a meticulous visual search.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope primarily draws inspiration from the world around him but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether it’s a gift, a keepsake or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (limited edition or not), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sport, sneakers...).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously détourne labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to evaluate the lot for sale is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claim will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
