Laura Muolo's original 2025 oil on mounted cardboard portrait titled la filatrice, 20 x 20 cm, signed by hand, produced in Italy and sold directly by the artist, varnished and shipped with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
CONCEPT OPERA:
The Spinner
oil on primed cardboard 20x20 cm.
The spinner spun the wool
In a workshop with a sickly air
When outside it wasn't good
And inside the pains were endured as well
Light and running water were certainly lacking
Hard work accompanied you
Then you came home every evening
And with your loved ones you talked for hours
The family relationship is what truly counted
Not the clothes or beauty in front of people

NOTIZIE SULL'ARTISTA
Laura Muolo, born in 1975, a Milanese by birth and a Rimini native by adoption. She approaches art as a self-taught artist since 2013. Her starting medium is graphite, with which she immediately seeks the realism of faces, while later she engages with other media such as pastel and painting.
She participates in many group shows across Italy and internationally, and her works are exhibited in important Italian museums. Her works are part of several private collections worldwide. Four solo exhibitions so far. She collaborated on the realization of a cover for a poetry book in 2015 and for the cover of a philosophy book in 2023.
Winner and finalist in several artistic competitions, nationwide and international.
Laura describes her work this way: “I prefer oil painting for its reflective nature: it allows me to build the image step by step, changing, sanding, perfecting. Sometimes I use pastel on cardboard to grasp the essence of the subject directly and instinctively. My style is realistic, but my painting tells inner worlds, hidden emotions, and stories to decipher.
My works move between dreamlike landscapes and figures immersed in their thoughts, accompanied by shadows that reveal what is not seen: desires, fears, memories. Each scene originates from photographs of young subjects and takes shape through symbols, objects, and animals that give voice to a memory or a deep feeling. Painting, for me, is a journey into the dimension of the unspoken.”
Laura collaborates with the Ranarossa galleries of Modena and LoyeloArtGallery of Volterra
