Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora Nova" - ROLEX - 5/20
In the lineage of the original luminous works from the Aurora Borealis collection, discover "Aurora Nova", a hand-customized, limited-edition pop light sculpture of 20 copies for 2025, themed around the Swiss watchmaking house Rolex (this is not an official brand object).
A strong, minimalist and contemporary sculptural presence: the elegant mirror sphere catches the eye when off, then reveals, when illuminated, an intense and hypnotic light explosion at its core.
The iconic crown, suspended at the center of the sphere, becomes the focal point of the work. It seems to float in a vibrant luminous universe, creating a spectacular and immediately recognizable visual effect.
Aurora Nova embodies a purified and bold vision of light: a strong, direct, immersive luminous signature, conceived as a true contemporary pop artwork.
- LED light ball with mirror effect
- Simple and immediate on
- Intense signature lighting (see photos)
The numbering visible in the photos is shown for example purposes. The delivered work will bear the edition number indicated in this listing.
Lamp in a limited edition, numbered, signed and delivered with authenticity certificate " AMA ".
Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and cardboard) with signature on delivery.
Who is Pope?
Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a plastic arts practice since childhood, a high standard of detail and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few.
Whether for a gift, a keepsake or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited or non-limited editions), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously subvert labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to assess the lot being sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claim will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
