Year 2026
The Cropline series was born from a reflection on each person’s journey.
The destination point is symbolized by a landmark, while the intertwined lines evoke detours, choices, obstacles, and encounters that shape a life path.
No trajectory is perfectly straight. Some lines cross, loop back on themselves, or veer away before returning to their direction, much like our own experiences.
Each work is named after a real place, not to offer a faithful representation, but to convey a sensation, energy, or emotion through an original graphic composition.
In Kanagawa, the lines converse with the famous Japanese wave. The geometric structure meets the movement of water, creating a balance between control and spontaneity, between destination and the unforeseen.
- About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau is a self-taught painter, born in Marseille in 1970. He lives today near Aix-en-Provence.
Through his various series, he explores diverse graphic universes where each project develops its own visual language.
With Cropline, he intentionally moves away from his street art creations to offer a purer exploration, built around the notion of journey. The lines become a metaphor for the paths everyone takes, the decisions, detours, and encounters that shape an existence.
His work blends geometric abstraction, bold colors, and cultural references to create artworks with multiple levels of meaning: immediately accessible through their aesthetics, they also invite the viewer to project their own story.
Each canvas is handmade and unique.
