Description from the seller
- About the work:
"REYKJAVIK"
Acrylic on canvas
50 × 50 cm
Unique piece
Cropline Series
Signed at the top left
Year 2026
The Cropline series arose from reflections on each person's journey.
The destination point is symbolized by a marker, while the intertwining lines evoke detours, choices, obstacles and encounters that shape a life path.
No trajectory is perfectly straight. Some lines cross, loop back on themselves, or wander before returning to their direction, like our own experiences.
Each work bears the name of a real place, not to offer a faithful representation, but to convey a feeling, energy or emotion through an original graphic composition.
- About the artist:
Frédéric Truteau is a self-taught painter born in Marseille in 1970. He now lives near Aix-en-Provence.
Through his different series, he explores varied graphic universes where each project develops its own visual language.
With Cropline, he deliberately moves away from his street art creations to offer a more restrained exploration, built around the notion of a journey. The lines become a metaphor for the paths each person takes, the decisions, detours and encounters that shape an existence.
His work blends geometric abstraction, bold colors and cultural references to create works with multiple levels of interpretation: immediately accessible through their aesthetics, they also invite the viewer to project their own story.
Each canvas is handmade and unique.
