BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST:
Born in Vilanova y la Geltrú in 1922. He enters the School of Arts and Trades of his city at eleven years old, where he studies under the tutelage of Alexandre de Cabanyes and Damià Torrents.
In 1936 he joins Joaquín Mir's workshop where he begins his painting training. His inclination toward these arts arises thanks to the help and advice of that color wizard.
After the war, he works as a decorator. In 1952 he moves to Brazil, where he resides until 1964. He undertakes study trips across the American continent, living among artists from several countries. Subsequently he resides in different cities, including Mallorca, Paris and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
His artistic spirit finds the most suitable means of expression in oil painting, a technique he practices with great personality, particularly within the genres of portrait, landscape and seascapes. In addition to wash, he also cultivates watercolor. His preferred theme is the landscape en plein air (Camp de Tarragona, Conca de Barberà, El Garraf, especially between the years 1980 - 1994).
He has exhibited in Catalonia, France and Brazil where samples of his work can be found in private collections.
He passed away in 2016 in Vilanova y la Geltrú.
