This striking oil-on-canvas work reinterprets Michelangelo’s iconic sculpture of David through a contemporary lens that blends classical realism with conceptual art and geometric abstraction. The composition is vertically divided by a background of strong bi-chromatic contrast—a vibrant flat yellow opposed to a deep black—on which the bust of David emerges, executed in a refined monochromatic grisaille that imitates the coldness and volume of marble.
