Description from the seller
Red Horizon from the series Derivas
Original work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops a study around the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed but move, transform, and continually reconfigure themselves.
The works are situated in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitioning planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographical features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of a landscape in constant change.
The concept of extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking about the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon decomposes, and depth is constructed through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subject to processes of mutation.
Color acts as structure and energy. The color ranges are organized into transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests displacement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, building a landscape that never presents itself as definitive.
In Derivas, landscape stops being an image and becomes a process: a way of perceiving in which matter, color, and time meet in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the pictorial surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of creation, and Ella Suárez’s signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which certifies its origin and authorship.
Note:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations from the original work due to lighting in the spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between display devices. The photographs have been made with the greatest possible care.
