Heinrich Weitzmann (1811-1893) began his career as a tightrope walker in his father's Society of equestrian performers. With his own circus company he was not permanently successful, so that in his old age he had to work as a music teacher and piano tuner. - The woodcuts show various acrobatic performances, including tightrope walkers and strongmen. - Very fine copy!
