Wax Figure Cabinets. - With the permission of the high authorities, Joseph Caris from Paris ... has the honor to show his ... wax-figure gallery to high nobility and esteemed public, as well as connoisseurs and lovers of the fine arts. Munich, (1835). A single-sheet print with typographic text in a border. Sheet size: 41 x 25.5 cm.
The large number of figures, mostly rulers and persons of the Napoleonic wars, are shown in appealing scenes. But Voltaire and Rousseau are also presented as wax figures, after all Caris himself is French. - The audience is admonished: "The esteemed attendees are kindly requested not to smoke tobacco, nor to touch the objects there."

Wachsfiguren-Gallerie einem hohen Adel und verehrten Publikum, so wie Kennern und Liebhabern der schönen Künste zu zeigen die Ehre haben. München, (1835). Einblattdruck mit typographischem Text in Bordüre. Blattgr.: 41 x 25,5 cm.
Die große Anzahl der Figuren, meist Herrscher und Personen der Napoleonischen Kriege, werden in ansprechenden Szenarien gezeigt. Aber auch Voltaire und Rousseau werden als Wachsfiguren präsentiert, schließlich ist der Bilder Caris selbst Franzose. - Ermahnt wird das Publikum: "Die verehrten Anwesenden werden höflichst gebeten, keinen Tabak zu rauchen, auch die daselbst befindlichen Gegenstände nicht zu berühren".
