Description from the seller
When we see two animals, or people, running, the first impression is often that they are competing; that it is a race in which one will be the winner. But what if those two animals or people are simply strolling, accompanying each other? An image in which the starting pistol goes off but we don’t know which path or goal lies ahead. A painting made with layers and transparencies on an absorbent support that lends delicacy to a fresh and spontaneous facture.
No shipments will be made between July 13 and 18, nor between August 4 and 17.
María Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that her vocation was art. She began her training at the Escuela de Artes Decorativas in Madrid, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Painting specialty in 1993. Later she completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of competitions such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Woman and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones… her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, also features in the collections of municipalities such as those of Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, Diputación de Alicante…
She has held dozens of solo and group exhibitions in Spain and abroad, and her work is also in numerous private collections worldwide.
Her hardworking and enthusiastic spirit has led her to participate in all kinds of projects and to collaborate with designers, writers, and anyone who can help her express all that she carries inside. Her work always reveals the phase she is living, her vitality and her particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with mastery of techniques that she combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness.
Her works always include a certificate of authenticity and when they are paintings on canvas they are shipped rolled in a rigid tube for greater security.
