Bodegón Floral, an Italian oil painting from 1915 in the Impressionist style, by the Italian School (XX), depicting a still life and sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Title: Floral Still Life
School: Italian Impressionist School (20th Century)
Style: Italian Impressionism
Technique: Oil on canvas
Circle: Work created within the tradition of early 20th‑century Italian floral painting, with affinities to the circle of Italian impressionist and post‑impressionist painters specializing in still lifes. The composition shows influences from late 19th‑century European floral painting, characterized by loose brushwork, careful chromatic harmony, and a special interest in capturing light and the delicacy of the flowers.
Elegant floral still life dated 1915, composed of an exuberant bouquet of roses in pink and burgundy tones combined with white and yellow chrysanthemums, arranged in a dark vase that rises above a background of greenish and grayish hues. The composition conveys balance and freshness through a natural distribution of the flowers, while the loose and vibrant brushwork adds movement and luminosity to the ensemble. The chromatic variety and the treatment of petal textures reflect the sensibility typical of early 20th‑century Italian Impressionism, giving the scene a refined and decorative atmosphere.
Soft lighting shapes the forms without resorting to strong contrasts, allowing the spotlight to fall on the bouquet’s rich color and the natural arrangement. The signature and the date visible in the lower right corner help contextualize the work within the era’s artistic production.
The work is presented in a carved and gilded wooden frame with an aged finish. Decorated with raised botanical motifs and smooth inner moldings, it harmoniously complements the classical and elegant character of the still life, enhancing its presence without detracting from the pictorial composition.
Observations:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of any damage to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
