Description from the seller
Pair of Art Nouveau – France, c. 1900–1910
Magnificent pair of table candlesticks (palmettes) in Art Nouveau / Jugendstil style, French manufacture from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century (c. 1900–1910).
Design and Theme: The pieces display a strong naturalistic and organic inspiration, with the base modeled in the detailed shape of a nymphaea leaf (water lily / lotus), with the leaf veins delicately embossed.
Bimaterial Excellence: They present an attractive contrast of metals. The structural leaf serving as the drip tray is hammered copper, while the curved ring handle and the bobeche are of gilded brass.
Maker’s Mark (Origin Guarantee): On the brass plate of the mounting base, the two pieces bear a clear and legitimate French maker’s mark stamped inside a legal lozenge (poinçon de maître), featuring a stylized motif in the shape of a clover leaf or iris flower.
The item will be shipped by registered mail, with shipping and customs duties borne by the buyer.
Not shipped to countries in the American Continent.
