Scorcio veneziano is an oil painting on cardboard by Giannino Baruzzi (1924–2009), produced in Italy in the 1950s–1960s, signed by hand, and sold with its original frame, measuring 52 × 42 cm overall (painting 30 × 20 cm).
Description from the seller
The refined Venetian view presented here, executed in oil on canvasboard, faithfully conveys with vivid immediacy the luminous poetry of the lagoon city. The composition unfolds as an balanced dialogue between architectures, boats and bodies of water, where reflections fragment the forms and amplify the chromatic vibration. The brushstroke is loose, cursive, capable of synthesizing without losing descriptive effectiveness, while the light – the true protagonist – shapes space with naturalness and a powdery sensitivity.
The work is referable to the production of Giannino Baruzzi (1924–2009), Bologna-born painter, supreme exponent of that lyrical neonaturalism, who revisits the impressionist mood, updating it through the luminous datum.
In this composition emerges the artist’s poetics: an intimate and lived Venice, distant from monumental celebratory grandeur and rendered in its daily and vibrant dimension. The work stands out for its freshness of execution and atmospheric quality.
At the bottom the customary signature of the master can be read.
The painting comes from a Venetian dwelling.
As a tribute, accompanying the work, its refined original frame is also present.
The measurements of the painting’s support are: 30 cm x 20 cm.
The overall dimensions: 52 cm x 42 cm.
