Sub Rosa - Hand signed, a limited edition giclée on canvas by LeYack, with 20 individually numbered prints, 60 x 40 cm, signed by the artist on front and back, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, shipped from France and ready to frame.
Description from the seller
Against a wallpaper of faded roses, chipped by time, a red-haired woman with long wavy hair clings to herself a heavy bouquet of crimson roses, whose thorny stems descend along the naked body to the white stockings. To the left, the lampshade of a lamp casts an amber and intimate light. Semiotically, the rose is double: offering and shield, it adorns the body as much as it protects it from view. The deep red of the flowers bursts as the sole saturation in a range of powdered pinks and warm browns; the contrast between the flesh, the dark green of the foliage, and the purple of the petals builds a sensuous tenebrism, inherited from the tradition of chiaroscuro. Everything here is kept secret, beauty safeguarded.
