Description:
Up for sale is an exclusive collector’s piece from Cartier: an original pair of sunglasses from the legendary “Edition Santos-Dumont” with the elegant removable leather accent on the bridge.
The gold-plated frame is in pristine, scratch-free condition and has been handled with extreme care. The glasses come as a complete “Full Set” with all original accessories (box, case, and booklet).
Note about the lenses:
The lenses are 100% original. There are no deep scratches on the lenses. Due to age-related, gentle cleaning, over the years only the fine mirrored coating (flash coating) of the lenses has partially peeled off.
Important: When wearing the glasses, this is absolutely invisible from the inside and does not affect visibility or comfort in any way.
To ensure absolute transparency, this effect has been attempted to be depicted in the last photos in direct light.
Since these are the original first lenses, they were deliberately not replaced in order to preserve the authentic vintage character of the Full Set. The future owner can either wear the glasses exactly as they are in their original condition or have the lenses replaced by an optician according to their wishes.
An absolute highlight for any Cartier and vintage collection.
